We are looking for Substance Use Disorder Counselors to work with offenders within a community corrections environment.

The Counselor III is responsible for:

  • Completes comprehensive assessments and treatment planning and provides counseling services to clients.
  • Develops and implements complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social or mental health issues.
  • Serves as professional resource to others in resolving complex case problems and may provide clinical supervision as needed.
  • Develops and may facilitate trainings for treatment staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for overseeing counselors in absence of supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Master s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field required.
  • Current professional license in the state of Texas required as a LCSW, LPC or LPC-I
  • At least 4 years clinical experience desired, with concurrent experience in the treatment of substance abuse and dual-diagnoses highly preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a corrections environment a plus.
  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance as required by Dallas County.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy, to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, read
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data
  • Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
